sz

SZ3: a modular error-bounded lossy compressor for scientific floating-point data. Header-only C++17 library, with an optional command-line tool and HDF5 filter.

Run the following Vcpkg command to install the port.

vcpkg install sz

sz provides CMake targets:

find_package(SZ3 CONFIG REQUIRED)

target_link_libraries(main PRIVATE SZ3::SZ3)

With the tools feature, the sz3 command-line tool and C API library:

find_package(SZ3 CONFIG REQUIRED COMPONENTS SZ3c)

target_link_libraries(main PRIVATE SZ3::SZ3c)

With the hdf5 feature, the HDF5 filter library:

find_package(SZ3 CONFIG REQUIRED COMPONENTS hdf5sz3)

target_link_libraries(main PRIVATE SZ3::hdf5sz3)

In a dynamic build, a copy of the filter for HDF5 to load as a plugin is in

lib/plugin (Linux, macOS)

bin/plugin (Windows)

under the installed prefix; set HDF5_PLUGIN_PATH to that directory.
